“…These results show that prednisolone blocks in vitro and ex vivo NKT cell expansion and suggest that the blockade is independent of APCs. While further research will be required to establish the exact mechanisms involved, the data presented here suggest it is likely to involve inhibition of IL‐2 synthesis, a well‐known effect of prednisolone (Randazzo et al , 1984; Briggs et al , 1999).
