Abstract: We have previously shown that phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) inhibition protects against neuronal injury in rats following middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MCAO/R). However, the effects of PDE4 on brain edema and astrocyte swelling are unknown.
