“…Migration inhibition testing was first described for inhibition of macrophage migration (David et al, 1964), and has been well correlated with delayed hypersensitivity and thus cell-mediated immune mechanisms. We have previously reviewed the various migration inhibition tests used in autoimmune thyroid disease (Okita et af., 1980a) and have indicated that tests using T lymphocytes alone are not subject to the criticisms levelled at the direct leukocyte inhibition factor test, of B lymphocyte (Rocklin et af., 1974;Yoshida et al, 1973) or immune complex (Packalen & Wasserman, 1971;Kotkes & Pick, 1974;Hall, 1978) involvement.…”
