Inhibition of caspase-9 reduces chondrocyte apoptosis and proteoglycan loss following mechanical trauma

Abstract: These results suggest that impact trauma-induced chondrocyte death is predominantly due to caspase-9-dependent apoptosis and is linked to cartilage degeneration.
