“…Experts and scholars worldwide have conducted active powder spraying explosion suppression system research and have focused mainly on powder explosion suppressants, such as SiO 2 , NH 4 H 2 PO 4 , NaHCO 3 , Al(OH) 3 , KHCO 3 , urea, ferrocene, diatomaceous earth, and montmorillonite, which contain sodium or potassium salts compounds that exhibit good inhibitory effects. KHCO 3 , one of the most common fire extinguishing agents in recent years, is inexpensive, has an environmentally friendly decomposition product after heating, has superior fire extinguishing properties, has chemical stability, and is not susceptible to chemical reactions with other organic or inorganic substances. Thus, it has been studied by scholars worldwide as a representative explosion inhibitor. KHCO 3 has often been used to inhibit nano PMMA dust, aluminum powder, and industrial dust explosions.…”

“…Moreover, this proportion is still on the rise, causing a huge labor loss to the country (Nie et al 2022, Zhou et al 2022a. Additionally, the increased concentration of coal dust in underground coal mines exacerbated dangerous coal dust explosions, causing serious harm to miners (Liang et al 2021, Wang et al 2020. Therefore, there is an urgent need for high-efficiency and low-cost technologies to solve the problem of high dust concentration in coal mine.…”

“…In previous research, the authors got the ignition characteristics of dust and flame characteristics and also discussed the propagation process of toxic gas products in the explosion flow field. However, the research on the suppression is still insufficient. Previous scholars’ research mainly focused on the explosion suppression of lignite dust. Therefore, this paper selected long flame coal as the research object to analyze the suppression effect of different explosion suppressants on its explosion pressure. Long flame coal has a higher degree of metamorphism than lignite and is also the least metamorphosed bituminous coal.…”
