Abstract:The spectrum of CO2 has been recorded in the 1.4–1.7 μm atmospheric window using the very high resolution Fourier transform spectrometer of the Meudon Observatory. This laboratory study has allowed the accurate determination of the spectroscopic constants previously evaluated from the Venus spectrum.
“…Discrepancies of the same order of magnitude between the planetary spectra of Ref. (7) and laboratory measurements were evidenced at lower energy (12). The transition wavenumbers could be fitted with a typical rms of 3 × 10 −3 cm −1 leading to the spectroscopic rovibrational parameters given in Tables 3 and 4 Table 5).…”

“…The 31113 and 31112 levels of the polyad have been included in the fit through data from Ref. (20) and give satisfactory residuals. The quality of the potential is clearly dependent on the input data.…”
“…The reason is not clear and is to be further investigated. One possible cause is, since absolute wavenumbers rather than relative wavenumbers are required to accurately determine the band center, the deviations are probably due to the different frequency references used in our work and Maillard et al (10).…”

“…Later, Maillard et al made an observation of this band in the laboratory using a very high-resolution FTS (10). A set of more accurate constants were also given in their paper.…”
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
