“…The assignments for the NH 3 bands in [Ag(NH 3 ) 2 ] + [Ag 3 (N 5 ) 4 ]ˉ are unequivocal, including the different N-H stretching vibrations in the region of 3000–3400 cm −1 , the symmetric deformation around 1601 cm −1 , and the rocking mode around 688 cm −1 . These absorptions of [Ag(NH 3 ) 2 ] + in [Ag(NH 3 ) 2 ] + [Ag 3 (N 5 ) 4 ]ˉ agree with those of other diamine silver complexes, such as [Ag(NH 3 ) 2 ]NO 3 and [Ag(NH 3 ) 2 ] 2 SO 4 25,26 . In the infrared spectrum of the AgN 5 complex one additional unassigned band is observed at 1704 cm −1 .…”

“…The presence of AgClO 4 is confirmed by the appearance of a unique perchlorate stretching band at 1122 cm −1 , distinctive of an anion in tetrahedral symmetry and purely ionic character [35], as previously observed for B [14]. It is also possible to detect a weak band at 479 cm −1 tentatively ascribable to the Ag-N bond stretching [36], confirming the coordination of silver(I) by the nitrogen atoms of the pyridyl rings. Another proof can be found in the ESI-MS spectrum of Fe 4 Ag in THF/CH 3 CN with the peak at m/z = 2014.7 for the [Fe 4 Ag(THF)] + ion, in addition to the peaks at m/z = 1836.4 and 1874.8, as previously observed for Fe 4 ( Figure S6 in Supplementary Materials).…”

“…Infrared spectra of metal ammine complexes have been investigated by several groups with a major focus on the compounds [Ag(NH 3 ) 2 ] 2 SO 4 and [Ag(NH 3 ) 2 ]NO 3 . The corresponding Raman spectra were published by the groups of Tobias 5 and Geddes 6. Proton and deuterium magnetic resonance studies of [Ag(NH 3 ) 2 ]Ag(NO 2 ) 2 and [Ag(ND 3 ) 2 ]Ag(NO 2 ) 2 were reported in the literature 7.…”
