“…The main absorption bands for the precursor phosphate in the interval 3700-3500 cm −1 are attributed to water and structural OH stretching vibration; the band at 1620 cm −1 is associated with its bending vibration. The bands at 1087, 1030, and 956 cm −1 can be related to PO phosphate stretching and the vibration at 865 cm −1 was associated with the stretching [27][28][29] . For all modified phosphates, the spectra can be characterized by a drastic decrease in the intensity of the band of P-OH deformation mode originally presented at 865 cm −1 , principally for HApSil2 and HApSil3 and for the appearance of the new bands at 2950 and 2840 cm −1 ascribed to asymmetric and symmetric stretching modes of CH 3 groups, respectively [30].…”

“…Figure 4 shows that the treatment of silane on talc could be detected, and this suggested that the condensation of silane on the surface of the filler took place during the drying process. Apart from the SiO group, the bands at 1376 -1652 cm Ϫ1 showed the presence of SiON, NH(C 2 H 3 )OOCH 3 , and CH 3 ONHOCOCH 3 , 22 all of which were characteristic groups of the amino silane used during hydrolysis in ethanol. The Lica 12 treatment, on the other hand, affected the spectrum of talc at approximately 2200 -2500 cm…”

“…Comparing to the uncross-linked collagen and uncross-linked collagen-GAG sponges, the cross-linked collagen and collagen-GAG sponges revealed increased absorbance peak at 1 389 cm À1 that might be assigned to the CÀN stretching vibration of secondary amine groups. [25,26] The cross-linked collagen-GAG showed another intense peak at 989 cm À1 that represents the CÀOH group vibration of sulfated polysaccharide due to addition of GAG. [27] The cross-linked collagen and collagen-GAG sponges were not dissolved in water while the uncross-linked collagen sponge was dissolved in water completely and uncross-linked collagen-GAG sponge was partially dissolved in water.…”
