This paper provides an introduction to multi-source data fusion (MSDF) and comprehensively overviews the ingredients and challenges of MSDF in scientometrics. As compared to the MSDF methods in the sensor and other fields, and considering the features of scientometrics, in this paper an application model and procedure of MSDF in scientometrics are proposed. The model and procedure can be divided into three parts: data type integration, fusion of data relations, and ensemble clustering. Furthermore, the fusion of data relations can be divided into cross-integration of multi-mode data and matrix fusion of multi-relational data. To obtain a clearer and deeper analysis of the MSDF model, this paper further focuses on the application of MSDF in topic identification based on text analysis of scientific literatures. This paper also discusses the application of MSDF for the exploration of scientific literatures. Finally, the most suitable MSDF methods for different situations are discussed.

Group decision making based on Dombi operators and its application to personnel evaluation

In the process of talent selection and evaluation, it is important to know the personality traits, ability, knowledge level, and development potential of the candidates. However, the above evaluation indicators are difficult to describe with precise values, and personnel evaluation often needs to be done through group decision making (GDM). In this paper, we establish a GDM method under the interval‐valued intuitionistic fuzzy (IVIF) environment based on Dombi aggregation operations, which are the extension of existing operations. First, IVIF operations are introduced. Second, a series of IVIF Dombi aggregation operators are proposed, such as IVIF Dombi weighted averaging operator, IVIF Dombi‐ordered weighted averaging (IIFDOWA) operator, IVIF Dombi geometric weighted geometric (IIFDWG) operator, and IVIF Dombi‐ordered weighted geometric (IIFDOWG). The desirable properties of these proposed aggregation operators are well studied. Finally, the GDM method based on these Dombi aggregation operators under the IVIF environment is presented; the case study about personnel evaluation based on the proposed method is presented to show its validity and rationality. The comparison with other methods is presented to show the difference and advantage of the GDM method proposed in this paper.

The concept of intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) theory plays an important role in dealing with real‐life issues under uncertain and imprecise environment. But it has certain limitations and further extended by many researchers by taking different situations. One of the extensions of IFS theory is Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS), in which the condition of IFS theory, ie, sum of membership degree and nonmembership degree is less than (or equal to) one is related to the square sum of its membership degree and nonmembership degree is less than (or equal to) one. In this study, the concept of the generalized parameter is incorporated into the PFS theory and presented some generalized Pythagorean fuzzy average aggregation operators. Then, the operators are extended to a group‐based generalized parameter by taking the opinions of multiple senior experts/observers. Based on the defined operators, a multi‐criteria decision‐making (MCDM) approach is provided and illustrated with a numerical example to show the proposed approach effectively. Finally, a comparison analysis is also considered to validate the proposed approach over the existing ones.
