The main goal set by this paper is to identify the position of controlling and controllers in the practice of companies operating in the Republic of Serbia in the conditions of intensive digitalization. This research study is focused on understanding and the critical success factors of controlling, tools and the controller's tasks. The research study was conducted on a sample of 35 companies, and the respondents were employed in various controlling positions. In methodological terms, the analysis of the collected data included descriptive statistics, measuring the reliability and internal consistency of the variables (Cronbach's alpha coefficient) and conducting a nonparametric test (Mann-Whitney's U test). The results of the research study show that controlling is understood as multidimensional, most often professional support to management; that the controlling key success factor is the controller's expertise and competence; that the most important controlling tools are the budget, variance analysis and the short-term calculation of the results, and finally that one of the controller's basic tasks is reporting to management. The nonparametric test enabled the identification of statistically significant differences in the respondents' attitudes.

Statistical Analysis of Interdependence of ICT and Economic Development of Selected European Countries

The research focus on the analysis of interdependence of economic and ICT development results from the fact that, in recent decades, ICTs have become a dominant factor in generating socio-economic prosperity of countries. ICT expansion is a stimulus for economic growth, and vice versa. In order to empirically verify the observed interdependence, on the example of the selected 37 European countries, a two-stage statistical analysis was conducted, based on a combined application of cluster analysis and a oneway analysis of variance. Using specific data from 2017, the following was conducted: (a) formation of groups of countries by implementing cluster analysis based on the three structural components of the ICT Development Index; and (b) by applying the ANOVA method and using the values of GDP per capita, testing the validity of assumption regarding the existence of statistically significant differences, in terms of the achieved level of economic development between the formed groups of countries of different levels of ICT development. The obtained results suggest the extraction of three clusters of countries and the acceptance of the defined hypothesis. Serbia is classified within the cluster of medium ICT development level and is characterized by the value of GDP per capita that is significantly below the group average, which indicates the possibility and the need for improvement in the ICT field.

Organization of Online Language Learning for Students of Non-Linguistic Specialties

The paper focuses on organizing the educational process based on the example of learning a foreign language. First, we demonstrated the research relevance and highlighted the basics of successful distance learning. Then, we examined the concept of "comfort" in the educational process as the main component of effective learning. We also studied the psychological comfort in distance learning. The paper aims to identify the degree of comfort of the learning environment in a distant format to develop practical recommendations. Furthermore, we used questionnaires to determine the level of tension in the educational process, which is the opposite value of comfort: the higher the tension of students, the lower their comfort. Following S. V. Levchenko, we compiled the general emotional portrait of students' attitudes to distance learning. The survey involved 87 students. Using statistical methods, we interpreted the results to make practical recommendations on organizing the learning process online most efficiently. The importance of psychological comfort as the primary mechanism in the organization of education, including distance learning, was emphasized.
