Background of the study: This study explores financial behaviors and information sources among off-campus university students, emphasizing challenges in using library materials for financial literacy. Purpose: The research aims to comprehensively understand the financial landscape of off-campus university students, identifying key behaviors, information sources, and obstacles related to financial literacy. Method: A cross-sectional survey involving 245 off-campus university students was conducted to gather pertinent data. A self-administered questionnaire served as the primary data collection tool. The collected data underwent analysis using descriptive statistics to draw meaningful insights. Findings: Off-campus university students' major expenses included school-related costs and food. Common financial behaviors included living within means, avoiding borrowing, and budgeting. Despite these practices, many students expressed financial dissatisfaction. Family members were the primary information source, followed by friends, Google, and online books. Libraries were not a significant source. Limited time emerged as the main hindrance to using library materials for financial literacy. Conclusion: In conclusion, off-campus university students, constrained by limited time, face challenges accessing library resources for financial literacy, necessitating targeted programs to address their unique needs and providing valuable insights for institutions and policymakers.

Agricultural innovations are keys to economic growth, income stability as well as nutritional enhancement particularly in marginal areas since they are well-adapted to poor or unpredictable agro-ecological conditions. Innovation is a critical player that is seen to bring competitiveness, increase productivity and efficiency to agrienterprises. Despite that, there is limited empirical evidence on whether the uptake of the innovations has on sorghum competitiveness in small scale farm level agriprenuers in most ASALs of Eastern Kenya. This study examines the effect of production and market innovation on the competitiveness of sorghum agriprenuers, using primary data collected in 2019 from a total of 384 randomly selected small scale agrienterprises. A multivalued treatment effect model was applied to determine the role of innovation on the competitiveness of sorghum enterprises. Farm productivity and gross margin analysis were used to measure the competitiveness of the agrientreprises. The results indicated that gross margin and farm productivity of sorghum agrienterprises increase with an increase in the number of innovations used. These innovations include the uses of improved sorghum seeds, conservation agriculture, and group marketing. But also, there was a decrease in both gross margin and productivity for the agrienterprises with the highest number of innovations in the farm at saturation level. The results implied that the kind and the number of innovations employed in agrienterprises development are critical in its profitability and productivity. Therefore, interventions targeting usage of innovations in sorghum agrienterprises should be sensitized to integrate different innovations on product, process, and market in enhancing competitiveness.

The speed of spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 led to global lockdowns and disruptions in the academic sector. The study examined the impact of mobile technology on physics education during lockdowns. Data were collected through an online survey and later evaluated using regression tools, frequency, and an analysis of variance (ANOVA). The findings revealed that the usage of mobile technology had statistically significant effects on physics instructors' and students' academics during the coronavirus lockdown. Most of the participants admitted that the use of mobile technologies such as smartphones, laptops, PDAs, Zoom, mobile apps, etc. were very useful and helpful for continued education amid the pandemic restrictions. Online teaching is very effective during lock-down with smartphones and laptops on different platforms. The paper brings the limelight to the growing power of mobile technology solutions in physics education.
