“…For 1957, 1983, and 2000, we estimated an ELA of 3081, 3089, and 3105 m a.s.l., respectively. These results are similar to the data reported in the Maladeta Glacier by Chueca and Julián (2004b) and Chueca et al (2005), who suggested ELAs of 3030, 3035, and 3095 m a.s.l. for the years 1957, 1981, and 1997–99, respectively.…”

“…for the years 1957, 1981, and 1997–99, respectively. The small difference between our ELAs of 1957 and 1983 in the Aneto Glacier and the ELA determined by Chueca and Julián (2004b) in Maladeta Glacier could be due to the different topography of the glaciers, which can cause notable variations in the ELAs of different glaciers in the same region (Carrivick and Brewer, 2004; López-Moreno et al, 2006, 2016; Reinwarth and Escher-Vetter, 1999). A similar difference is observed between our ELA of 2015 located at 3134 m a.s.l., and the value of 3050 m a.s.l.…”

“…This is characteristic of the environmental data available for the LIA in the region (Morellón et al, 2012). Cool environmental conditions were also present in the Pyrenees with glacial advances (Chueca and Julián, 1996;Oliva et al, 2019).…”
