et al.

Abstract: This study aims to explore the effects of Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) content on the weld line properties of Polypropylene (PP) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) blends. In PP/TPU blends, increasing the TPU content results in a significant decrease in the PP/TPU composite’s ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and elongation values. Blends with 10 wt%, 15 wt%, and 20 wt% TPU and pure PP outperform blends with 10 wt%, 15 wt%, and 20 wt% TPU and recycled PP in terms of UTS value. The blend with 10 wt% TP… Show more

“…1 Thermoplastic resins may be effectively melted and joined together, and the thermoplastic engineering materials well behave under impact loads. 2 Extensive research studies have been conducted by researchers on the injection molding process of resin materials, focusing on the formation of weld lines during the molding process, 3 strength of the molded parts, and their service life. 4 However, a single molding process is insufficient owing to as the inevitable need to connect different components arises.…”

“…Mechanical properties in the welding region can be changed by the selected welding technologies, especially when dissimilar materials are involved [21][22][23][24][25]. The mechanical properties, mainly yield strength and tensile strength, generally decrease due to precipitate dissolutions in FSW of aluminum alloys [26][27][28][29].…”
