Influences of the phenolic curative content and blend proportions on the properties of dynamically vulcanized natural rubber/acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene blends

Abstract: The vulcanization of natural rubber (NR)-blended acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) was carried out with a phenolic curing agent by a melt-mixing process. The NR compound was first prepared before blending with ABS. The effects of the phenolic curative contents (10, 15, and 20 phr) and blend proportions (NR/ABS ratio 5 50 : 50, 60 : 40, and 70 : 30) on the mechanical, dynamic, thermal, and morphological properties of the vulcanized NR/ABS blends were investigated. The tensile strength and hardness of the bl… Show more

“…The cathode was a 50:50 mixture of BYCF and GDC 10 , while the anode was a 60:40 mixture of NiO and GDC 10 . These compositions were used to control and maintain the thermal expansion coefficient close to that of GDC 10 , which is 13.08 × 10 −6• C −1 at 900 • C [26].…”

“…В ряде работ приводятся разные механизмы вулканизации каучуков фенолоформальдегидными смолами [11][12][13][14][15][16]. Таким образом, установление механизма вулканизации для конкретных типов и марок каучуков, и фенолоформальдегидных смол, используемых в производстве композиционных фрикционных материалов, является важным фактором повышения качества и эксплуатационных характеристик фрикционных узлов трения.…”

“…A dynamic vulcanization of PP/NBR thermoplastic elastomer blend was conducted by selecting grade of Polypropylene (PP) modified with dimethylol-phenolic resin and melt-mixed with NBR for several weight ratios [6]. As also studied [7][8] that the plasticizing system can reduce the van der waals force between rubber molecular chains, and facilitate the mixing refining of powder in order to reach a better vulcanization, physical, and elasticity properties. Hence, the plasticizing is becoming an indispensable process for the rubber preparation.…”
