Abstract:The influence of sinusoidal density modulation on the stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) reflectivity in inhomogeneous plasmas is studied by three-wave coupling equations, fully kinetic Vlasov simulations and particle in cell (PIC) simulations. Through the numerical solution of three-wave coupling equations, we find that the sinusoidal density modulation is capable of inducing absolute SRS even though the Rosenbluth gain is smaller than π, and we give a region of modulational wavelength and amplitude that the a… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
