“…The radius of Bi 3+ (1.30 Å ) is nearly comparable to the value of Ba 2+ (1.61 Å ) for owing to 12-fold coordination in A-site, 22,23 while both Zn 2+ (0.74 Å , 6 CN) and Nb 5+ (0.64 Å , 6 CN) are larger than that of Ti 4+ (0.605 Å , 6 CN) at the B sites. 24 As a result, the incorporation of BZN will induce the change of BT structure.…”

“…The effective ionic radii of substituting the charge compensated pair of Zn 2+ (0.74 Å) and Ti 4+ (0.605 Å) onto the B-site is 0.673 Å. Therefore, the shift in T m as BZT was added could be attributed to a weakening of the bonding in the B-site octahedral network after a substitution of a larger effective B-site ion (Zn 2+ +Ti 4+ , r effective (0.673 Å)) for Nb 5+ (r (Nb5+)~0 .64 Å) [25]. The decrease in T max has been observed in other perovskite systems including Ba(Zr x Ti 1-x )O 3, BiScO 3 -Bi(Zn 0.5 Ti 0.5 )O 3 -BaTiO 3 [26] and NaNbO 3 -Bi 0.5 Li 0.5 TiO 3 [18] Figure 4 shows the trend in T max (determined from the maximum permittivity at 10 kHz) as a function of BZT content.…”

“…However, sample with x ¼ 0:05 (BZT1) concentration of Zr-doped BT showed the presence of tetragonal phase characterized by small splitting of (200) peak at around 2 ¼ 45 . 10 Further addition of Zr i.e., x ! 0:10 splitting of the peaks disappeared suggests the developing of cubic phase indicating structural changes with an increase of Zr concentration.…”
