Abstract:Yellow leaf disease of sugarcane (Saccharum spp.) caused by the Sugarcane yellow leaf virus (SCYLV), vectored by aphids has attained epidemic proportions causing severe yield losses, ranging from 20 to 40 % in susceptible varieties.
