Influence of the movement of involute profile gears along the off-line of action on the gear tooth position along the line of action direction

Abstract: When gears change their distance along the off-line of action (OLOA) direction, this affects the distance between the working surfaces of the meshing teeth along the line of action (LOA). This effect is usually neglected in studies. To include this effect precise equations are derived for spur gears. The analysis is carried out for the general case of spur gears with shifted profiles frequently used in the industry. The influence of OLOA gear displacement on LOA direction is also a function of gears parameters… Show more

“…None of these studies has, however, managed to precisely determine the effect of gear displacement along the OLOA direction on the distance between teeth surfaces along the LOA direction. This relationship was precisely described in [29]. This will serve as a basis for determining the displacement due to eccentricity, considering the effect of the displacement along the OLOA direction on the displacement of the meshed teeth along the LOA direction.…”

“…The reliability of the transmission is affected by various parameters, such as the coupling of cylindrical gears [11], gear pitting fault [14,22], assembly tolerances [21], bearing configuration [9] and can be detected by various methods such as (synchronous resample and adaptive variational mode decomposition) [31]. Detecting a large number of different parameters can increase the reliability of the system which was processed.…”

“…Wang and Zhu [16] put forward a nonlinear dynamic model of a GTF gearbox with time-varying backlash, and investigated the dynamic characteristics from the time domain and frequency domain. Jedli ński [17] focused on the influence of the off-line-of-action (OLOA) direction displacement on the distance between the meshing tooth surfaces along the line of action (LOA) and established a 12-DOFs analytical model. The results show that the influence of the OLOA displacement on the distance between the meshing tooth surfaces could not be neglected when the OLOA displacement was significant.…”
