Abstract:The free vibration of a thin-walled fluid-loaded cylindrical shell is discussed. The TimoshenkoMindlin-type theory of thin plates and shells that includes the effects of shear deformation and rotatory inertia is used to describe the motion of the structure. A classical approach of the Watson transformation applied to the normal mode solution makes it possible to solve the problem in a series of different circumferential waves. The coordinates of the poles in a complex wave number plane provide the phase veloci… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
