Influence of substrates on the dynamical properties of ferromagnetic semiconducting thin films

Abstract: Based on the s -d model using a Green's function technique it is shown that the influence of the substrate induces strong changing of various statical and dynamical properties due to different exchange interactions between the ferromagnetic thin film and the substrate. The increase of the phase transition temperature and the magnetization is attributed to the tensile stress effect induced by the substrate whereas the reverse is true for the compressive stress effect.
