“…As shown in Table 1, more data are available for CO2/Ar [5][6][7][8][9], CO2/SO2 [2,3,10], CO2/NO [10] and CO2N2O4 [11]. There are also more measurements about multi-component CO2 mixtures, such as CO2/Ar/O2, CO2/SO2/O2 and CO2/N2/H2 [9,10,12,13], which are very important to the calibration and validation of theoretical models.…”

“…Some data have been published about the density of CO2/O2 [14,16], CO2/CO [14,17], CO2/N2O4 [11], CO2/COS [18] and CO2/H2 [14,15]. And more data are available for CO2/SO2 system [2][3], with a total of 47500 points.…”

“…EOS-CG has also been used to calculate the VLE and density of CO2/SO2 [2][3]. The results showed that the AARD for density, dew point and bubble point were 0.54%, 2.07% and 0.88% in the temperature range of 263K-304K.…”

“…Previous work has revealed that the design and operation of CCS systems [2][3][4] rely on a deeper understanding of the thermodynamic behavior of CO2 mixtures, especially PVTxy properties of phase equilibrium and density.…”
The latest progress on the experimental data and theoretical models regarding PVTxy properties of CO2 mixtures has been updated. This review shows that more experimental data are available, such as the vapor liquid equilibrium (VLE) of CO2/NO and the density of CO2/O2. But there are still some clear deficiencies: for example, there have been no data on VLE of CO2/COS and density of CO2/NH3; there are only few points on VLE of CO2/NH3 and CO2/N2O, and density of binary mixtures containing CO, N2O4, COS and H2S. Several new models exhibit advantages for calculating PVTxy properties of CO2 mixtures. For example, Equation of State for Combustion Gases and Combustion Gas-like Mixtures (EOS-CG) shows better accuracy on both phase equilibrium and density than GERG-2008 except for the critical region. Peng-Robinson+ residual Helmholtz energy-based model ( PR + EOS/ E,Wilson ) displays significant improvement in the representation of high-pressure critical region (deviation decreasing from 12.6% to 1% for CO2/O2/N2) and wider application of polar and non-polar mixtures for VLE.
