“…Broadcast lime increased second year production at both Lake Onslow (unlimed plots 722 kg/ha v. limed plots 982 kg/ha, SED = 74.5) and Castle Dent (unlimed plots 278 kg/ha v. limed plots 356 kg/ha, SED = 9.2). “…Problems with poor establishment of 'Grasslands Maku' lotus (Lotus pedunculatus Cav.) have been encountered on Otago tussock grassland where nodulation on acid soils (pH 4.6-4.9) can be as low as 33-41 % (Lowther 1976).
