Influence of shield tunnel construction on ground surface settlement under the condition of upper-soft and lower-hard composite strata

Abstract: Taking the shield tunnel project of Guangzhou Metro Line 8 from Tongdewei Station to Shangbu Station as the research background, using the research method of finite element simulation and site monitoring, this paper analyses the influence rules of shield tunneling on ground subsidence under the condition of different hard rock height ratios. The research results show that in the process of crossing different hard rock height ratio composite stratum, as the hard rock height ratio decreases, the value of ground … Show more

“…Lv et al used the shield tunnel project from Tongdewei Station to Shangbu Station of Guangzhou Metro Line 8 as the research background and used finite element simulation and field monitoring research methods to analyze the influence of shield tunnel construction on ground settlement under different conditions. e research results can provide a reference value for similar shield construction in the upper soft and lower hard composite stratum [2]. Jian et al proposed that the cooling capacity of the fan of the aircooled condenser (ACC) will be affected differently by exhaust gas recirculation and axial coupling in different areas.…”

“…e Sigmoid function is currently the earliest and most widely used activation function in artificial neural network models. It maps the real number input to the interval [1,2], the Sigmoid function is a strictly single-increasing smooth function and has asymptotic characteristics [17], and its general form is as follows:…”

“…But the existing empirical or semi-empirical methods can hardly take into account the external factors affecting soil deformation comprehensively, making it difficult to predict surface settlement accurately. Numerical simulation methods are commonly used as research tools in tunnel excavation problems 4 . Nevertheless, the establishment of computational models for numerical simulation requires the support of a large number of soil parameters and construction data, in high requirement for operators and computers.…”

“…Combing with practical engineering, Chen et al [21] used empirical formula (assuming that the settlement curve above the tunnel is a Gaussian distribution curve) and finite element analysis to conduct reverse analysis to the ground settlement of the tunnel. Based on the shield tunnel project of Guangzhou Metro Line 8, Lv et al [22] investigated the settlement of shield construction in upper-soft and lower-hard strata by using the numerical simulation and the monitoring data of the project. They concluded that with the decrease of the height ratio of soft and hard rocks (soft rock height/hard rock height), the ground settlement decreased and the settlement trough became shallower.…”
