Abstract:This literature review presents data on the influence of serotonin on the metabolism of bone tissue. The mechanisms by which serotonin affects the formation and resorption of bone, depending on the site of synthesis (central or peripheral), as well as the cells and receptor subtypes that are activated, have been considered.
