“…Although the evaluation of the time spent for preparation of the root canal system with each instrumentation system was not a purpose of this study, it was observed that Reciproc preparation required less time to perform the full instrumentation of the root canal compared with the other groups. These results are in agreement with several previous studies, which demonstrated that instrumentation with reciprocating single file systems can be performed in shorter time [23][24]27 , compared to other instrumentation systems. In spite of requiring less preparation time, some studies have also demonstrated an appropriate effectiveness in cleaning and shaping of the root canals for the Reciproc system 27 .…”

“…Moreover, there is some evidence that it outperforms conventional continuous rotary NiTi preparation 24 . In fact, the first experimental and clinical impression of the single-file reciprocating systems seems promising [25][26][27][28] . However, some important parameters still need be properly assessed; for instance, the effect of reciprocation movement on foramen enlargement.…”

“…7 To overcome the above-mentioned anatomical and microbial challenges, the disinfection abilities of different substances and procedures have been studied, especially through ex vivo experiments involving E. faecalis biofilm models. 4,6,10,11,12,13,14 In addition, various materials and techniques have been introduced to improve the shaping and disinfection of the root canal system. Since 2008, two innovations including a new type of nickel-titanium (NiTi) alloy and an instrument offering reciprocating movement 15,16,17 have been studied.…”

“…Iako se nekoliko dosadašnjih istraživanja fokusiralo na učinkovitost čišćenja (12), apikalno izbacivanje otpada (13) te na redukciju endotoksina (14) jednoigličnog sistema, u nekoliko studija (10,11,15,16) analizirana je mogućnost smanjivanja broja mikroorganizama u kontaktu s antimikrobnom otopinom za ispiranje.…”

“…Thus, although several previous studies have evaluated the cleaning efficacy (12), the apical extrusion of debris (13), and the reduction of endotoxins (14) of single-file systems, only few studies (10,11,15,16) have analyzed the ability to reduce intracanal microbial agents when associated with antimicrobial irrigating solutions.…”
