Abstract:Based on the Wentze–Kramers–Brillouin approximation, we derive formulae to calculate the position of convergence zones in a range-dependent environment with sound speed profiles varying in linear and ellipsoidal Gaussian eddy cases. Simulation results are provided for the linear and ellipsoidal Gaussian eddy cases. Experiment data are used for calculations considering linearly varying sound speed, and the findings suitably agree with the simulation results. According to the evaluated environment, the influence… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
