“…On the contrary, Goéré et al concluded that the continuation of chemotherapy during PVE is safe and did not affect the hypertrophy of the FLR. Prolonged time interval of more than 3 months, however, did not reveal any significance as reported by Dello et al Our results showed no relation between liver regeneration and time interval.…”

“…The results reported from these studies have mostly concluded that neoadjuvant chemotherapy does not have a negative impact on liver regeneration; however, these studies included relatively small sample size, ranging between 20 and 112 patients. Sturesson et al have shown that preoperative chemotherapy negatively affects postoperative and post‐embolization liver regeneration , although it has also been concluded in several studies that neoadjuvant chemotherapy may not hinder liver hypertrophy in patients undergoing hepatectomy or PVE .…”

“…These observations are compatible with previous reports that investigated liver regeneration after simple hepatectomy without EBR. [3][4][5] Interestingly, there was a significant negative correlation between KGR PVE and KGR POD7 . Patients who achieved more liver regeneration following PVE do achieve less liver regeneration following hepatectomy.…”

“…A LTHOUGH THERE ARE many studies investigating liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy, 1,2 most of these studies evaluated liver regeneration later in the postoperative course (approximately 1 month after resection), and the data on the early phase (1 week after resection) are scarce. [3][4][5][6] Furthermore, all previous reports [3][4][5][6] focused on liver regeneration after hepatectomy "without" extrahepatic bile duct resection (EBR) and the data exclusively focused on the regeneration after extended hepatectomy with EBR are not available.…”

“…CT examination is mainly used to determine postoperative complications and identify residual tumor area, which helps direct following treatment [14]. Postoperative digital subtraction angiography (DSA) detects the pathological blood vessels and the number of tumors that are stained [15].…”
