Abstract:A series of SiC/SiC composites were fabricated through the precursor infiltration and pyrolysis (PIP) process, using solid polycarbosilane (PCS) and liquid vinyl perhydrogen PCS (VHPCS) solutions as impregnating agents. The physicochemical characteristics of the SiC matrices derived from PCS and VHPCS were investigated and compared.
