This study aims to propose a comparison model of Chinese and Japanese traditional opera tunes based on deep learning (DL) and artificial intelligence technology, which can be used to effectively analyze and classify the tune characteristics of Chinese and Japanese traditional opera. To achieve this aim, a multi-layered DL model, including Convolutional Neural Network, Long Short-Term Memory, Recurrent Neural Network, and Gated Recurrent Unit, is constructed based on the tune characteristics of Chinese and Japanese traditional opera. In the extensive experimental verification, the proposed model has achieved remarkable results in the task of classifying Chinese and Japanese traditional opera tunes. Specifically, the proposed model achieves an accuracy of 89% and 88%, recall of 88% and 87%, and F1-score of 88% and 87% in the tune classification task of the Chinese and Japanese traditional opera, respectively. Compared with similar models, the proposed model performs better in classification. RESEARCH BACKGROUND AND MOTIVATIONSWith the development of globalization and the swift growth of science and technology, as an important cultural heritage of China and Japan, traditional opera's protection, inheritance, and innovation have attracted more and more attention [1][2][3]. However, due to the differences between China and Japan in language, culture, history, and other aspects, the inheritance and development of Chinese and Japanese traditional operas face many challenges [4][5]. Among them, how to dig deeply and compare the tune characteristics of Chinese and Japanese traditional operas has become a topic worthy of study [6][7][8]. The tune is a vital part of traditional opera, which not only represents the opera's musical style and singing characteristics but also contains rich cultural connotations and artistic values [9-10]. The comparative analysis of Chinese and Japanese traditional opera tunes allows the similarities and differences between their traditional opera art to be better understood, thus providing references for the cross-cultural communication and inheritance of the two countries' traditional opera [11][12][13]. However, the comparative studies on Chinese and Japanese traditional opera tunes are relatively few and lack systematism and depth [14].Furthermore, China and Japan have deep historical and cultural origins, and there are many similarities in the traditional opera art between the two countries [15][16][17]. During the COVID-19 pandemic, young people are using multimedia content more frequently to communicate with each other on Internet platforms. Among them, music, as psychological support for a lonely life in this special period, is a powerful tool for emotional self-regulation and getting rid of loneliness. More and more attention has been paid to the music recommender system based on emotion. In recent years, Chinese music has tended to be considered an independent genre. Chinese ancient-style music is one of the new folk music styles in Chinese music and is becoming more and more popular among young people. The complexity of Chinese-style music brings significant challenges to the quantitative calculation of music. To effectively solve the problem of emotion classification in music information search, emotion is often characterized by valence and arousal. This paper focuses on the valence and arousal classification of Chinese ancient-style music-evoked emotion. It proposes a hybrid one-dimensional convolutional neural network and bidirectional and unidirectional long short-term memory model (1D-CNN-BiLSTM). And a self-acquisition EEG dataset for Chinese college students was designed to classify music-induced emotion by valence-arousal based on EEG. In addition to that, the proposed 1D-CNN-BILSTM model verified the performance of public datasets DEAP and DREAMER, as well as the self-acquisition dataset DESC. The experimental results show that, compared with traditional LSTM and 1D-CNN-LSTM models, the proposed method has the highest accuracy in the valence classification task of music-induced emotion, reaching 94.85%, 98.41%, and 99.27%, respectively. The accuracy of the arousal classification task also gained 93.40%, 98.23%, and 99.20%, respectively. In addition, compared with the positive valence classification results of emotion, this method has obvious advantages in negative valence classification. This study provides a computational classification model for a music recommender system with emotion. It also provides some theoretical support for the brain-computer interactive (BCI) application products of Chinese ancient-style music which is popular among young people.

Guangxi's intangible cultural heritage music culture has a long history, diverse types, and profound connotations. As a precious and primitive ethnic music cultural heritage, Guangxi's intangible cultural heritage can improve the quality of contemporary vocal teaching in professional skills such as music singing, instrument performance, enhance the training quality of national vocal music talents in China, and promote the development of folk music culture in China. However, as the rapid development of modern society, these valuable musical traditions are facing gradual marginalization and oblivion. Based on this phenomenon, this study interviewed four professors and four students in the field of music education, as well as conducted a detailed survey questionnaire on 347 students from four universities in Guangxi (Guangxi Arts University, Guangxi Normal University for Nationalities, Yulin Normal University, and Guangxi University of Foreign Language). The results show that students and educators maintain a strong interest in and a high level of respect for non-heritage music, despite the challenges of the current education system and resource allocation. Students and educators are eager to contribute to the preservation and transmission of this valuable cultural heritage to enhance the aesthetic and artistic sensibilities of university students and improve their musical aesthetic ability. Therefore, through investigation and analysis of the current situation and existing problems of music education in various universities, combined with the important significance of improving the music aesthetic ability of college students, targeted solutions are proposed to effectively improve the music aesthetic ability of music majors in universities.
