“…1,18,32 The metal-mediated/coordination ROP mechanism is often employed to achieve higher molecular weight (>50 kg mol −1 ) polyethers, whereas anionic ROP is suitable for lower molecular weight polyethers (polyglycols) with controlled chain-end functionality and narrow distribution. 3,33 For metal-based catalyst systems for coordination ROP of epoxides, 1 those containing aluminum 4,5,33−37 and zinc 14,18,38 are among the most established. Several transition-metal-based catalysts for coordination ROP have been reported.…”

“…PPG, however, is a flexible, noncrystalline polymer with a low glass transition temperature ( T g ), making it suitable for applications such as lubricants, antifoaming agents, softeners, and flexible polyurethane foams. Less commonly used polyethers include poly(cyclohexene oxide) (PCHO), which can be prepared from ring-opening polymerizations (ROPs) of cychlohexene oxide (CHO) with a suitable catalyst. Findings for metal-catalyzed CHO ROP include the production of high-molecular weight polymers, sometimes with broad molecular weight dispersities. , Heterogeneous solid acid catalysts such as montmorillite have also been used giving PCHC with T g of 75 °C . The mechanical properties of PCHO differ from those of PEG and PPO in terms of T g , which for PCHO are found in the range of 58–75 °C, ,,,, resulting in different applications to the more ubiquitous PEG, for example.…”

“…To date, although the X-ray structures of several metal complexes of chiral bisoxazolines have been reported [6][7][8][9][10], there appear to have been no structural studies of chiral bisoxazolines alone. Here, we report a study of the bisoxazoline, 1, using ab initio density functional theory (DFT) [11,12], in combination with vibrational unpolarised absorption (IR) and vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) [13][14][15][16] spectroscopies.…”
