Respiratory muscle dysfunction is commonly observed in heart failure (HF) patients and contributes to early fatigue and dyspnea. As there is no specific pharmacological therapy to treat skeletal muscle changes, physical exercise is considered an important strategy to prevent HF-associated skeletal myopathy.
