Influence of geometrical parameters of screw melt mixing on visco‐elastic properties of PC/ABS blends

Abstract: In the present article, we describe an experimental study of blends of polycarbonate (PC) with acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene graft copolymer (ABS) melt mixed in two types of single screw (varying in compression ratio) and twin screw (counter and co-rotational) extruders. The effect of screw design variation is qualified via storage and loss moduli differences obtained for particular screw geometries. Rotational rheometer with parallel-plates geometry was used to determine dynamic viscoelastic properties at a… Show more

“…So, large amounts of this engineering blend are used in industry annually. Many researchers have investigated this blend from different points of view, such as processing conditions and morphological and mechanical properties . Yin and Wang investigated the effects of strain rate and ABS fraction on the tensile deformation behaviour of PC, ABS and PC/ABS alloys .…”
