Influence of Ge Lone Pairs on the Elasticity and Thermal Conductivity of GeSe–AgBiSe2 Alloys

Mario Calderón-Cueva,
Eleonora Isotta,
Megan Rylko
et al.

Abstract: Chemical design is a compelling strategy to improve the performance of energy materials but requires a comprehensive understanding of how structure and chemistry affect materials properties. In this work, we investigate the structural, elastic, and thermal behavior of the (GeSe) 1−x −(AgBiSe 2 ) x system to shed light on the respective contributions of chemistry and crystal structure to thermal transport. In this system, progressive AgBiSe 2 alloying transforms the room-temperature structure from orthorhombic … Show more

“…5 Thermal conductivity and Young’s modulus of various materials. ( a ) The values for γ-GeSe (red, this work), SnSe (orange), graphene (black), other 2D materials (purple), Si/GaAs (blue), and Cu/Ag (gray) are marked [ 39 , 44 , 47 , 48 , 54 , 61 , 62 , 67 – 76 ]. For layered materials, the in-plane Young’s modulus ( E ) total thermal conductivity ( κ total ) are shown.…”
