Abstract:This work evaluated the machinability characteristics of three different austempered ductile irons using three machinability indicators: cutting force, tool wear, and surface roughness. Additionally, this paper addresses the interplay among the production conditions of ADIs, microstructural development, the TRIP effect arising from transformations of the retained austenite into martensite, and the machinability behavior of ADIs. Various characterization studies including hardness measurement, X-ray diffraction… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
