Influence of Age and Surface Conditions on the Reactivity of Certain Precipitates.

Abstract: 1. Sorptions of propane and propylene on silica gel and on silica gel metallized with palladium were measured at -25°C., 0°C., and 35°C.2. The olefin is more strongly sorbed by the metallized surface than by the untreated gel, and it is more strongly sorbed than the paraffin.3. The results are in reasonably good agreement with the theory of Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller.
