Abstract

Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common type of progressive hair loss in men and women. To varying severity, hair loss affects the frontal, temporal, and the vertex regions. The occipital region is a non-androgen-dependent area; it is generally spared.The prevalence of AGA in men is estimated at 30% at 30 years, up to 50% at 50 years, and 80% at 70 years. 1 AGA is a pathology involving the aesthetic prognosis, which has a negative impact on the quality of life.
