Inferential statistics for monitoring and fault forecasting of PV plants

Abstract: This paper proposes a procedure, based on both descriptive and inferential statistics for diagnosis of PV plants. This study aims to developing an algorithm able to recognize accurately among a degradation status and a system abnormality before a fault occurs. The statistical approach, based on the ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis tests, is effective in locating abnormal operating conditions even in the presence of a reduced availability of energy measures. The proposed algorithm has been applied to a case study and a… Show more

“…In literature (Zheng and Lyu, 2015;Yu, 1998;Littlewood, 1981;Randell, 1975), the optimal fault tolerance strategy reliable for the international trading system with the local and global constraints was studied, and a systematic and extensible framework was put forward, through which the best fault tolerance strategy could be selected in the design stage of the combined international trade. Literature (Vergura, Acciani and Amoruso, 2008) established the modeling of the problem studied as an optimization problem, and at the same time, converted the user's requirements into the local and global constraints, and also formalize the optimal fault tolerance strategy selection problem of the semantic-related task (hereinafter referred to as task for short) into a constraint of the optimization problem, and designed a heuristic algorithm (FT-HEU) to solve the optimization problem effectively. In literature (Mansour and Dillon, 2011), in the design stage of the gravitational field theory, the optimal fault tolerance strategy was selected at the same time when the atom international trade was chosen for each task (Mansour and Dillon, 2011).…”

“…To locate disconnect in the PV module string the earth capacitance measurement method was developed in [3], another technique that can detect the change in transmission line impedance with string disconnect is known as time-domain reflectometry [4]. Some researchers used statistical methods such as analysis of variance test and nonparametric Kruskale-Wallis test explaining offline supervision and real-time monitoring of the system is accurate and can be used for remote monitoring of the plant is proposed [5]. Others used the climate data with the help of satellite for the remote monitoring and fault detection method of small grid connected systems is presented [6], while some used climate data measured by sensors installed on the plant.…”
