Inertia Parameters Identification of Motor Assembly for Electric Vehicles Based on Modal Test Method

Abstract: Inertia parameters are essential for motor assembly mounting design, which mainly includes the mass, center of mass (CM) coordinates, moment of inertia and product of inertia. This paper explains the principle and methods of modal test method. One vehicle drive motor assembly is taken as the research object, its inertia parameters are identified using this modal test method. Finally test error analysis is also performed.

“…[15][16][17] For electric driveline, most researches merely consider the linear dynamic model to compensate the traction motor to alleviate the severe vibration caused by the lower torsional stiffness of the electric driveline. [18][19][20] However, the influence the gear play backlash is seldom considered when designed the active controller of the driveline, which is important for drive comfort improvement in real vehicles. 21 The active damping controllers designed for driveline backlash traversing compensation needs high precise measurements of the torsional angle of the half shaft, which is cost and complicated for productive cars.…”
