The purpose of this study is to find out the causes and provide alternative solutions to the increase in divorce of the Malay community in Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. The emergence of Covid-19 at the beginning of 2019 as a very scary and deadly virus for mankind in this world. One of them is Indonesia, which has been greatly affected by Covid-19, both from the family economy side and from the family resilience side. One of the cases that occurred in Sambas Regency was that in 2021 there was an increase in divorce during the Covid-19 pandemic, resulting in a change in status. This type of research is a type of qualitative research that prioritizes field studies with a normative juridical approach. The focus in this research is what causes the increasing divorce status of the Malay community during the Covid-19 period in Sambas Regency? And what are the alternative solutions to reduce the high divorce rate during the Covid-19 period in Sambas Regency. The findings of this study are the increase in divorce in Sambas Regency, the existence of conflicts in the families of married couples which results in divorce the main cause of problems in life or family economic resilience, communication in the family is tenuous and marriage. immaturity is caused by being too young to start a household. The alternative solution provided by this study is that husband and wife must communicate actively without prioritizing 2E, namely emotion and egoism to avoid conflict, synergistic active intervention from religious leaders, government, KUA, BBKN and families, to conduct socialization in order to create good relationships for newly married couple or husband and wife who have been married for a long time

Di masa pandemi Covid-19 mulai dari tahun 2019 sampai 2020 teridentifikasi tindak kekerasan terhadap perempuan meningkat dari 450 kasus menjadi 760 kasus (Asman, 2021). Kesetaraan gender merupakan satu persoalan kompleks yang kajiannya tidak terbatas pada aspek sosial saja, tapi juga akan berkaitan dengan aspek ekonomi, politik, budaya, agama, dan ilmu pengetahuan. Keberadaan perempuan seringkali disalah artikan perannya dalam kehidupan, yaitu perempuan dianggap tidak lebih baik dan berhak dari laki-laki, baik untuk mendapatkan posisi di ranah personal, publik dan negara. Tulisan ini memaparkan peran dan kontribusi perempuan dalam membangun perekonomian dalam mengatasi isu aktual untuk penguatan capaian kesetaraan gender di Indonesia. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian kualitatif, dengan memanfaatkan sumber data sekunder berupa laporan, jurnal, buku, dan dokumentasi yang relevan untuk melakukan studi literatur dalam menganalisis persoalan ini. Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menguraikan bahwa perempuan memiliki peran dan kontribusi yang sangat penting dalam membangun perekonomian demi tercapainya kesetaraan gender di Indonesia.Kata Kunci: Perempuan, Pembangunan Ekonomi, dan Kesetaraan Gender

Women and children are increasingly vulnerable to discrimination and violence due to gender inequality. It is the current phenomenon that is happening in Larantuka communities. The dominant forms of violence against women in the domestic domain occuring in Larantuka City are predominantly physical violence and household neglect. This research aims to explore the cases of violence against women and children to examine the handling efforts by government institutions. The phenomenological approach was delivered using in-depth interviews with 6 (six) Key Informant Interviews (KII) from Government Institutions who handle the cases of violence i.e. DP2KBP3A, a Social Worker, The Head of the East Flores Police Women and Children Protection Unit, 5 (five) housewives, and 8 (eight) teenagers (≤ 18 years) through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The findings of this study are a significant increase in cases of violence. Data from the East Flores Police Women and Children Protection Unit in 2022 shows 67 cases were recorded. In recent year between January-June 2023, 61 case recorded shows dominant cases are sexual and domestic violence. The majority victims of these cases are women and underage children (minors). The causes are the abandonment of children due to parents leaving abroad for work, permissive parenting, and high respect for customs.
