Purpose – the purpose of article should assess the main factors affecting the development of trade in high-tech products of Ukraine in the context of association with the EU and the spread of a new industrial revolution. Research methodology – the scheme of research of trade of high-tech products of Ukraine from the EU on the basis of qualitative and quantitative economic-statistical analysis, analysis of comparative advantages and correlation-regression analysis. Findings – the results of the analysis show that the main factors determining the low presence of Ukraine in the world market of high-tech products are the outdated structure of production, a low level of R&D costs, and a decrease in the innovative activity of Ukrainian enterprises. The article presents the author’s recommendations on improving the effectiveness of foreign trade in high-tech products of Ukraine in the EU market. Research limitations – the absence of a state development strategy for the production of hightech products does not make it possible to accurately determine indicators of scientific research of the potential of Ukraine. Practical implications – correlation-regression analysis results can be used in the private and state sectors of the economy of Ukraine. Originality/Value – the original combination of schemes and methods allowed us to identify new critical places for export development in the context of the association of Ukraine with the EU.

Manufacturing enterprises today are forced to face radical challenges in the disruptive concepts of Smart Manufacturing (SM) and Industry 4.0 to stay competitive. Most Multinational Enterprise (MNEs) have initiated their journey towards adopting SM. As a mainspring of many manufacturing economies, Small and Medium-Enterprise (SMEs) are still struggling to understand the complexity offered in SM, and many of them are not ready to embrace the concept of SM. To overcome this, SMEs first need to assess their readiness and maturity before embarking on an SM journey. The existing available readiness assessment model seems to be suitable for MNEs, and there is still a lack of tailored models that suit SMEs. This paper sought to pinpoint the conceptual framework from the review of the existing readiness-maturity assessment and identify the gap of existing model as well as proposed a tailored model framework that are suitable for SMEs. Ultimately, this model will be used to pursue a comprehensive scholarly study across Malaysia. The proposed model is enhanced with 4M attributes as the dimension and embedded with the characteristic of Industry 4.0 build component to help the SME’s overcome the possible uncertainties in adopting SM concept.

Whether undertaken by a public or private organization, the successful completion of every project is of primary concern. However, literature has confirmed that most project success depends on adhering to good practices and are keenly documented in the Project Management Frameworks (PMFs). The purpose of this study is to explore the factors that affect the implementation of PMFs in Ghana. This is motivated by the dearth of academic literature concerning PMFs and their successful implementation in Ghana. A conceptual framework was developed grounded on the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) and the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) theory to achieve this aim. Four independent variables and the dependent variable were hypothesized to be tested to establish the success factors affecting PMFs implementation. Data were collected from 105 project management consultants, contractors, and other key stakeholders in Ghana and analyzed to establish the relationships between the hypothesized constructs. The findings indicate that Stakeholder Involvement (SI) and Top Management Support (TMS) influence the adoption of PMFs. However, Acceptability and Organizational Maturity (OM) does not influence the adoption of PMFs. Moreover, PMFs does not influence Project Success. This preliminary study has given us insights into the factors to consider when adopting PMFs in Ghana. Practically, key stakeholders should encourage project management consultants and contractors to accept the PMFs, which, when adhered to, will lead to project success which is contrary to what this study found.
