“…The use of software tool enabled the generation of performance indicators for the control loops, numerical analysis and graphical analysis. Several indicators and metrics could be configured to then write a general grade for the performance of each control loop (e.g., Harris index (Harris, 1989), Nosi, Deli, and Tuni TuniPID indexes (Farenzena, 2008), integral of the absolute error (IAE), oscillation index (Hägglund, 1995(Hägglund, , 2005, valve travel index, among others) (Ordys et al, 2010;Torres and Hori, 2005;Jelali and Huang, 2010) and also to help in diagnosis of control problems. At this stage meetings were held to evaluate the process and defining the indicators to be used to quantify the performance of the control loop, generating a base line for the initial state of the loop with respect to the performance.…”
