“…By comparison, typical LODs reported for ICP-MS measurements of 5 nm gold nanoparticles in nanopure water are on the order of 2.4 ppb (6.4 ppb when measured in nitric acid) or 12.2 nM of Au . Much higher values are more frequently reported, such as in a solution containing a high charge of organic molecules and interfering ions. Therefore, the PET procedure developed in this study allows a detection sensitivity for AuNPs that is at least 10×, if not 100× more efficient. Finally, the sensitivity of PET can be further enhanced by increasing the Au: 89 Zr (IV) ratio or by integrating the signal over long time frames (e.g., 1-h time windows).…”

“…Good agreement was obtained with the recommended values for Fe, Mg, K, and Ca in both whole blood and serum; for Cu in serum, and for Zn the values were much closer in blood and serum. As can be observed, better results were obtained with ICP-MS than with ICP-OES (14)(15)(16)(17)(18).…”

“…This paper presents two methods of sample preparation for the determination of 14 chemical ele-very low and the sensitivity of the technique is moderate, and on the other, it is necessary to dilute the samples before analysis because of the consistency, nature, and the high viscosity of the vitreous humor (14)(15)(16)(17)(18).…”
