Induction of T cell tolerance in agammaglobulinemic chickens

Abstract: Immunological tolerance to histocompatibility antigens as assessed b y skin grafts and graft-versus-host reactions, was induced in hormonally bursectomized chickens that could not form antibody responses o r even synthesize immunoglobulins. This demonstrates that the induction of allograft tolerance does not require the essential participation of a suppressive humoral antibody.
