Indoor positioning utilizing bluetooth low energy (BLE) RSSI on LoRa system

Abstract: Indoor positioning systems has become popular in this era where it is a network of devices used to locate people or object especially in indoor environment instead of satellite-based positioning. The satellite-based positioning global positioning system (GPS) signal is affected and loss incurred by the wall of the building causes the GPS lack of precision which leads to large positioning error. As a solution to the indoor area coverage problem, an indoor positioning based on bluetooth low energy (BLE) and long… Show more

“…This view is the opposite of VLC technology, where it confers a more secure transmission. Positioning system has been a part of the essential factor in human everyday activities of daily living [10], the disadvantage of VLC is that cannot pass through the objects completely because parts of the rays will pass through and the others will be reflected. As a consequence, the receiver will accept the signal with lower power and a lower bit rate [11].…”

“…This technology is also used on radars [18], [19]. Significant research is also being conducted in the field of LoRa-based communication, including the definition of a robust and reliable architecture as well as testing the reliability and performance in real-world scenarios [20], [21]. Moreover, Marais et al [22] presents a summary of suggested LoRa and LoRaWAN testbed evaluation metrics derived from the literature.…”
