Indoor 3D Full Polarimetric Bistatic Spherical Facility for Electromagnetic Tests

Abstract: We welcome contributions for future installments of the Measurements Comer. Please send them to Brian Fischer and Ivan LaHaie, and they will be considered for publication as quickly as possible. Contributions can range from short notes to full-length papers on all topics related to RF measurement technology and its applications, including antennas, propagation, materials, scattering, and radar cross section. New or unique measurement techniques are of particular interest. While there are many radar cross sectio… Show more

“…Specifically, this measurement technique is one of the methods used in the CAEM-Lab from INTA, where there are two types of facilities, (POLYBENCH [ 8 ] and BIANCHA [ 41 ]), capable of performing measurements in this type of method and from which different algorithms for extracting EM permittivity and permeability values developed at INTA can be applied.…”

“…INTA owns an anechoic chamber facility (BIANCHA) suitable for free-space measurements [ 15 ]. BIANCHA consists of a dual-axis azimuth turntable and two antenna probes situated in two elevated scanning arms, which establish a bistatic, spherical field scanner.…”

“…As the RAM will be used under FS conditions, the EM characterisation that comes closest to its actual usage is the one that can be performed in an FS range such as an anechoic chamber of appropriate dimensions. In this paper, the facility called BIANCHA belonging to the National Institute for Aerospace Technology (INTA), Spain was used [31] (see Fig. 5).…”
