Abstract:Buckwheat (Fagopyrum spp.) is a pseudocereal, dicot, economically significant, and nutraceutical crop that belongs to the order Caryophyllales of the family Polygonaceae. The two species Fagopyrum esculentum (common buckwheat) and Fagopyrum tartaricum (tartary buckwheat) are most grown in the Himalayas.
