“…Seroprevalence of IgM was found yearround, indicating a subtropical epidemiological pattern of JEV transmission (Suresh et al, 2022). The seroprevalence throughout the region was consistent with previous, shorter duration studies, with large peaks observed, such as the annual seroprevalence of 60.8% in Sant Kabir Nagar in 2016 and 69.5% in Gorakhpur in 2017 for IgG and IgM, respectively, and some region-wide monthly IgG seroprevalence peaks reaching 100% (Dhanze et al, 2014;Kolhe et al, 2015).…”

“…Even so, both of these test may indicate good diagnostic tests or conversely, they may also be the inferior tests. Similar results was observed in comparing the ELISA tests with another serological test, virus neutralization test (VNT) which had the kappa 0.6 indicating both tests had a good agreement [10] . Even though using ELISA in detecting the JEV antibodies may be cross reacted with other flaviviruses' antibodies, a more validated diagnostic tests like virus neutralization (VN) test or plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT) can be performed to confirm the results.…”

“…However, ELISA is mainly used in detecting the antibodies that regularly used for screening test performed to detect the antibodies of JEV in pigs [9] even though it has a likelihood of cross-reaction with other Flaviviruses' antibodies [10] . Even so, the ELISA test is one of the diagnostic test can be performed for surveillance of the antibodies detection and its recommended by the world health animal organization OIE [11] .…”

“…Some false positive results might be occurred due to cross-reaction with any of the JEV serogroup flaviviruses, such as dengue [ 46 ] and Zika [ 47 ] viruses which are also detected in Bali. However, the use of the recombinant JEV for precoating of the ELISA plates may have reduced the occurrence of cross-reactions [ 48 ].…”
