“…The same Chinese research group 381 demonstrated precise and accurate measurements of 143 Nd/ 144 Nd without separating Nd from Sm. Instrumental mass discrimination was corrected using 146 Nd/ 144 Nd as an internal standard, after correction of the isobaric interference of 144 Sm on 144 Nd using interference-free 147 Sm/ 149 Sm for mass fractionation. Their data indicated that the mass discrimination of Sm and Nd was not the same and varied during an analytical session, hence the need to calculate mass biases for each element on individual samples.…”

“…3,4 Among other methods that could be employed in fluoride determination are fluorometry, 5 ion chromatography, gas chromatography, capillary zone electrophoresis, radio analysis, 6 and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. 7 The areas in which ion-selective electrodes are commonly used are fluoride determination in tea, 8 food, 9,10 protective dentistry materials, 11−13 waters, 14−16 atmosphere, 17 serum, blood, urine, 18,19 and coal. 20,21 Spectroscopic methods are equally applicable in fluoride determinations in various water samples, 22−26 plants, 27 protective dentistry materials, 28 silicone grease, 29 and samples prepared in the laboratory.…”

“…The spectroscopic techniques viz proton nuclear magnetic resonance ( 1 H NMR), time‐resolved absorption spectra and time‐resolved fluorescence spectra etc. utilized to explore the cyanide binding and its sensing process offer only the indirect information regarding photophysical properties and geometries . The density functional theory and time‐dependent density functional theory (DFT/TDDFT) methods are being used to study the cyanide binding, ICT and other mechanisms of cyanide fluorescent chemosensing .…”
