Purpose: The study aimed to determine the financial gap in the MSME Sector, analysing the factors responsible for this gap, and probable solution. The term financial gap refers to the disparity between financial requirements of MSMEs and their capacity to secure adequate financing options. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study adopted a systematic literature review of selected papers published during 2014 to 2023 by applying keyword MSME; Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises; Financial Gap. Findings: The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector plays a crucial role in the economic development of the country. Despite the fact of such contribution, the MSMEs are facing various challenges viz. lack of skilled manpower, scarcity of raw material, and a significant challenge of financial gap. Lender’s perception of high risk inherited in MSME financing, insistence for adequate collateral security is challenge for MSMEs in their pursuit of securing the funding. On the other hand lack of transparency in information disclosed by MSMEs presents a challenge for financial institutions while evaluating the creditworthiness of MSMEs. Practical Implications: The study founds its relevance among MSME owners and financial institutions. Lenders shall be assisted by considering a cash flow based lending approach instead of collateral based lending. Originality: Numerous studies have discussed the problems of MSME sector. Nevertheless, only few studies have been attempted to address the financial gap in MSME factor.

Digital Technologies, Environmental Governance and Environmental Performance: Empirical Evidence from China

This research conducts an empirical analysis of the relationship between digital technologies, environmental governance (assessed through environmental taxes), and China's environmental performance from 1995 to 2020. Additionally, within the framework of the STIRPAT model, the impacts of GDP and urbanization on ecological footprints are examined. This study is distinguished by its innovative approach to evaluating environmental performance via ecological footprints and the application of the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model along with Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares (DOLS), Canonical Cointegration Regression (CCR), and Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS) as long-run estimators, methodologies not previously applied to this context in China. The findings indicate that digital technologies and environmental taxes contribute to a reduction in ecological footprints, while GDP and urbanization have an adverse effect, increasing ecological footprints. Post-estimation diagnostics confirm the absence of serial correlation and heteroskedasticity, and affirm the normal distribution of the disturbance terms. For a robustness check, the study further employs DOLS, FMOLS, and CCR methods, which corroborate the initial results regarding the beneficial impact of digital technologies and environmental governance on ecological footprints. Based on these findings, the study advises the Chinese government and policymakers to enact more effective environmental tax policies and leverage digital technologies to enhance environmental sustainability in China.

The development of green dynamic capabilities in the educational sector of China is playing a great role for the institutes by offering green opportunities to teachers and students through which they can get inspired to accept the ecological administration to supplement the green reputation of the institute and thus gain a competitive advantage. The present study thus has been conducted to evaluate the effect of green dynamic capabilities, innovative finance and green innovation strategy on green innovation with the mediating role of green value co-creation. To further carry out the research, a quantitative-based survey methodology has been used to collect data from 350 China’s teachers who were teaching in various universities. The received complete questionnaires were 330 that were later analyzed using SPSS and AMOS. Results indicated that there is a significant relationship between GDC and GI. Innovative finance also significantly impacts green innovation. The green innovation strategy also significantly impacts green innovation. Mediation of green value co-creation was significant between GDC and GI, IF and GI and GIS and GI. In addition to a valuable enhancement in the growing body of literature, this study contributes by assisting the education sector to adopt such practices as defined in the paper. It may also contribute to helping the policymakers to develop policies that are related to green innovation. Furthermore, the paper explores the green financial aspect for organizations. So, this study has multiple theoretical and practical contributions.
