“…The item-objective congruence index (IOC) was used for content validation by the expert panel; an acceptable IOC value was 0.75. 31 The concurrent validity and predictive validity were assessed by comparing the HeLD-Th scores across category variables, similar to previous studies. 9,23,29 We hypothesized that physically disabled individuals with low levels of oral health literacy, including those who performed improper oral health behaviors and reported poor selfperceived oral health, would likely be men with low levels of education and low income.…”

“…The structure of the survey questions were based on the previous literature [7]- [13], [17]- [28] and the questions were modified based on the needs of this study. The content validity of the survey was by a number of experts to verify the wording of the survey questions according to the Index of the Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) [29] approach. These experts were asked to provide comments and evaluate each item in order to enhance the clarity, readability, and relevance of the questions.…”

“…The validation of the questionnaires was conducted to improve the quality of the data collection in two steps: (1) the content validity was reviewed by three researchers to determine the relevancy and validity of the questions, including latent variables. The Index of Item-Objective Congruence (IOC) of Rovinelli & Hambleton (1977) cited in Turner & Carlson (2003) showed IOC values ranging from 0.67-1.00 for questions which are acceptable. (2) The reliability was estimated using Cronbach's alpha, resulting in values ranging from 0.7 or greater (Conbach, 1951cited in Santos, 1999 for particular variables and from 0.769-0.902, confirming the reliability of the questionnaires.…”
